Guard usage with Depends underwear to ease & encourage self-care maintainence.

My 91 year old father suffers from alzheimer's and fall related dementia because of poor mobility and physical weakness. That extra trip to the bathroom is hard to encourage. We have found that by using the guard to line the depends pants, & checking the pad every three to four hours, he can conserve a great deal of energy by just replace the pad if it has not yet contaminated the pants. Also since he is seated or lying down much of the time we put the guard in with the widest end to the back of the pants about an inch down from the edge of the padding in the pants. This has helped during naps and at night since he does still make bathroom trips during the night.
