Increasing Water Intake
Feb 21 2012 09:45 AM Increasing Water Intake with 95 Year old Female We have Increased water intake with a 95 year old Female due to edema in her ankles. Very challenging to keep her dry and comfortable during the night. We stop water at 5:00 pm, but she will continue excess urination through out the night. Previously she was able to inform us when she had to urinate, so we were able to keep her dry throughout the day before the extra water intake. We all know water is needed, but the extra pressure to hold and amount of urination from the extra water, she's beginning to miss the urgency signal. Keeping her clean and comfortable has been a lot of work. She is currently using extra absorbant overnight pads, and we still have to do more washing and cleaning because she is unable to hold the excess urine. Would Diapers do a better job ? |
