Continuing Education Program for Nurses and Pharmacists. A Profile of Incontinence.
Diagnosis and Management is a self-study program for pharmacists and nurses, and is acceptable for two hours of continuing education credit (0.20 CEU). At the end of this program, the participant will be able to:
- Summarize the incidence, prevalence, types, risk factors, and medical and social implications of urinary incontinence in the adult population.
- Classify the different types of urinary incontinence.
- In general terms, describe the evaluation process used to diagnose urinary incontinence.
- Describe the treatment options for urinary incontinence, including behavioral treatment and pharmacological therapy.
- Describe adjunctive therapies that may be used in the treatment of urinary incontinence, including devices, catheters and absorbent products.
