Incontinence Research & Education
Supporting medical research of incontinence to better understand its causes and impact, improve education, and develop improved treatment options.
The June Allyson Foundation helps people with incontinence to lead fuller, more active lives by promoting, encouraging and financially supporting medical research and educational efforts that help advance incontinence care. One to two grants of up to $25,000 are awarded annually.
A broad range of research and education proposals will be considered:
- Public education programs regarding adult incontinence.
- Programs whose aim is to help people deal with adult incontinence.
- Medical research exploring the causes, prevention, cure and treatment of adult incontinence.
Eligibility and application requirements:
- Grant recipients must have an M.D. degree.
- Recipients must demonstrate that grant proposals are part of ongoing programs representing a serious commitment to reducing or eliminating incontinence and/or its associated problems.
- Recipient's personal long-term career goals should include a significant emphasis on incontinence research, treatment, education, etc.
- Support, supervision and/or sponsorship of proposals by accredited departments of Obstetrics, Gynecology or Urology is encouraged.
- Applications for grant consideration must be submitted by January 2 with award(s) decisions made by July 1 of the same year and announced at the AUGS Annual Meeting. Grant applications will be reviewed by the Research Committee of the American Urogynecologic Society. Suitable proposals will be submitted to the Board of Directors of the June Allyson Foundation for final selection.

The Foundation's Namesake: June Allyson
June Allyson is probably best known as a movie actress who appeared in more than 60 features and musical films as well as numerous television appearances. Her career as an entertainer spanned more than six decades. Her instantly identifiable husky voice, outgoing charm and utter naturalness combined to create a personality and a wholesome image that held unforgettable appeal to audiences.

The Foundation welcomes additional private and corporate supporters. The June Allyson Foundation has been established as a non-profit, public foundation. Its funds have been placed in a perpetual trust with awards given from the interest accumulated by the trust. Individuals and corporations are encouraged to help increase the Foundation grant awards by their welcome and generous contributions.
