RE: running
Dec 21 2010 12:29 AM Of course you can run wearing diapers. I ride my bike like 40 miles a trip in my diaper. The diapers work out well and hold up far better than expected. |

Re: running
Dec 21 2010 08:26 AM For running outdoors, it is a good idea to seek out where you can find bathrooms along the way. If it's close to home, you might not have to worry about it. If you plan on going to a fitness center, find a treadmill closest to the restrooms just in case. If you're concern with your clothing, dark clothes will help to not draw attention to the lower half of your body. Hope this is helpful and good luck with your running. |

Re: running
Jan 23 2012 11:47 PM I have found that diapers don't give me the support I need, and I am considering wearing a swim jock underneath. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue, and what they have done to solve it. |

Jan 24 2012 11:50 AM Wearing the supporter over, instead of under, the diaper might also work without the danger of getting the supporter wet. |

Re: running
Jan 25 2012 01:23 AM I have found that compression pants over a disposable works well. I use bike shorts but they also make basic compression pants too. Holds everything in place! |

Re: running
Jan 25 2012 01:29 AM I use compression pants such as road bike shorts to hold in a diaper. No sag this way. |

Re: running
Jan 25 2012 03:01 PM Thanks for the suggestions. I think I am going to stick with my original idea for awhile, at least until it doesn't work for me anymore. What I need is support that the diaper doesn't provide. So I think a swimmer jock--which is supposed to get wet--or brief-style swimsuit are going to be my first choices. I can't see where anything over the diaper is going to give me the support I need. Thanks. |

Re: running
Feb 02 2012 06:30 AM I preferred running with the normal absorbancy plastic depends diapers that are no longer made, they held up better and the thinner padding slides better between my legs with out bad clumping then the current diapers. Cloth like diapers are a huge no-no for me as i get a friction rash in no time. I never wet a whole lot while running, my guess is most of my fluids went out as sweat. people never noticed the diapers, i got more looks because i run with flip flops or the new minimalist shoes that are basically nothing more then some mesh and thin bottoms to protect from rocks and such. I even did a 12 mile hike into the grand canyon in deck shoes, lol |

Re: running
Feb 02 2012 04:26 PM LOL...Even if I "empty the tank" before running I always have to pee after 5 minutes or so! But I run on trails and rarely meet anyone out there so I just go without any protection and I just let my shorts get wet...I'm all sweaty anyway so even If I run into anyone it wouldn't be very noticeable. Everything just goes in the wash before I shower. |

Re: running
Feb 03 2012 05:25 PM As always t's better to have urine and/or feces ruin a diaper than, clothes (even an athletic/swim supporter.) To: OP; give compression shorts over diapers a try you may be suprised by the snugger fit and support that this will offer. Being both B&B for so long and wearing Diapers since the begining of my incon time that, not wearing some sort of diaper whether it be a regular daiper or, swim diaper makes me extremely unconfortable and self-consious. I Couldn't imagine spending more than 45 mins out of a diapers so regardless of my activitiy I'm usually always diapered. |

Re: running
Feb 03 2012 10:40 PM Jayj, I am not sure I understand your post. I have never had any clothing ruined because of urinary incontinence, especially clothing designed for exercise. My plan is going well. I have a McDavid Performance Jock that is designed for perspiration wicking, and it dries out rather well. It gives me the support I need, and having the diaper over it takes care of the incontinence. I haven't had any luck with compression shorts as they tend to squeeze the diaper, making it less absorbent, and they don't give me the support I need. I need something that is going to pull my anatomy out front, otherwise I can hurt myself pretty easily. |

Re: running
Feb 06 2012 11:29 AM @Inconguy- I understand the need for more athletic support, and in my early days I did as you are doing now, wearing a jock under my diaper but, I found this combo didn't work for me as well as, compression shorts over my diaper. But, if you way works for I say, go for it as we are all individuals with different needs. And, to answer your question of; Why I said "Ruin? in regards to my statement; "It's better to have urine and/or feces ruin a diaper than, clothes." I said this, more as a matter of hygiene/cleanliness while out and about as a reply to what "Househubby" wrote with regards to; not wearing any incon protection and his allowing incon episodes to just happen regardless of how it may effect other's or if they may notice or not. The statement was not meant as criticism or statement against your wearing a jock under your diaper. However I will add that, urine does have stronger odors and a higher probability of staining fabrics than, sweat. And although these stains and odors may not be present at first glance or smell over time, they can and will set into most fabrics especially with repeated incon episodes. Now you may soak your urine soiled clothes in effort to preserve them (as many do with cloth diapers after each use and keep soaking them until they can properly wash them) But, even though it may take longer for these stains and odors to set in and become noticeable over time the urine will definitely begin to cause noticeable stains and odor on the fabric (just like it does with cloth diapers.) |
