tnraines here formally inohio10

Jan 30 2012 11:37 AM

I seem to have lost my account info and since I no longer have orginal email address I just decided to use a new account.

I did have a question of sorts: I have bowl incon, most likely stemming from IBS or so I am told. Nothing I eat or don't eat really seems to help other then not drinking coffee. I know this site is primarly for urinary issues which I also have freq. urnination (been doc both issues) basically med for the urinary and tuff luck on the other. My question is there recommended websites/forums?. That deal with the bowl issues/IBS?

My issues seem to basically strike whenever they feel like and varying degrees of severity. So I have started wearing adult diapers more, most notibaly depends as they are easy to get, but when I am wearing it seems I have more urgent need to urinate. which causes own problems with the cheaper depends. Is this just part of using adult diapers or think something else should mention to the doc? I have been tested for pretty much everything.
I had enough accidents away from home I have decided some form of protection is needed for my peace of mind.

If anyone can help/have ideas would be much appreciated

My heart goes out to anyone who has difficulties with bowel control. I use Nullo; it does not aid control, but it does reduce odor. There are many different disposables manufacturers; look them up on the Internet and experiment to find brands that work for you. And, perhaps plastic pants over your disposable would be useful. Good luck.

Welcome tnraines,

While it may seem like the focus is on urinary incontinence, we do have discussions on bowel incontinence as well. So we hope you will feel encouraged to reach out to other members as you have with this post. We also have an article that discusses the story of Brett, who has Crohn's disease that you may find helpful here. Please feel free to take a look and discuss.

Plastic pants help, also I prefer a brief with inner brief guards for keeping the mess from spilling out of the brief, the plastic of the brief also helps with smell,

Looks like I should look into some plastic pants as that seems to be a consistent recommendation here as well as reading blogs elsewhere. Any suggestions on companies?

tnraines, a quick Google search will give you many top sites, I prefer the ones from Gabby's personally, not so plast-icky, more cloth and softer, with a waterproof liner. Hope that helps, Puffy
