How many of you have X's
Jan 13 2012 05:06 PM Reading some of the treads it would appear that may of us have X's. Was your incontinence a major factor in your divorce? How many are remarried and is it still an issue with your new wife/husband or significant other. |

RE: How many of you have X's
Jan 13 2012 05:30 PM got married right after I got out of the service in 1973--- and happily so. She is a nurse. I used to say I not only got a private nurse but I get to sleep with her too. She never did find that funny so I stopped saying it. wait, I just did. oops! |

Re: How many of you have X's
Jan 14 2012 09:58 AM Welcome to the community, Davie. When ever you read an article about the 50 percent divorce rate in this country, you seldom see health issues as a reason given for divorce. Mostly it's money (always first), age, children and work. Health issues can sometimes bind relationships, but if a marriage is rocky already, it might be the proverbial straw. I've often wondered why people like Jim, or me for that matter, stay married for long periods of time and others can't seem to make it ever work. It's a conundrum for sure. I just remain grateful and face the day. Jane |

Jan 15 2012 04:39 PM Hi. My bedwetting and day urgency had some role in our relationship difficulties. but eh tdivorce is nt' soley atribute dot that. Our relatinship did seem to have more issues during and after our two sons were trained. |

Re: How many of you have X's
Jan 18 2012 11:16 AM My first marriage ended after 13 years in part because my wife became increasingly unable (unwilling?) to deal with my incontinence. It's hard to judge how important a role my incontinence played, but it was certainly a factor. |

Re: How many of you have X's
Jan 27 2012 12:21 AM In my case, no. My wife didn't haver a problem with me wearing diapers, or being intimate with me when I was wearing them. She was irresponsible and immature. In the end, I found out that I was just a means to an end. I found an email that she sent to her mom where she said I was "an idiot", "no longer worth it", and "hopefully by the time our kids graduate from college, I'll be divorced from him" |

Jan 27 2012 07:09 AM Ouch, Gear Jammer. That must have hurt a lot. I'm so sorry about that. I honestly can't imagine how betrayed you must have felt. But at the end of the day, it's best that you found out on your own terms and acted in your best interest while you were in control. -RMS |

Jan 28 2012 06:04 PM bedwetter 797. Did you have any children prior to the divorce? Teh notion fo datign makesme autie anxious. I am okay for a date or so, but as soon as more intimacy becomes a real possibiltiy I back off. I know it's not fair as I probably leave some women wondering what she did wrong. Adn of course my not callign them has nothing to do with them. Wes |

Re: How many of you have X's
Jan 28 2012 06:35 PM We got married 44 years ago and we are still in love and going strong. We both have our aches and pains but by in large, we are doing okay. Having problems that require protection for incontinence is no big deal and we both accept the fact that it's better to use products than to explain the accidents. |

Re: How many of you have X's
Mar 09 2012 02:58 PM I'm similar to GRANDPAJ except that I've been married to my wonderful wife for 54 years. She's stuck with me through 10 years of riding a scooter when I want to go more than 100 feet, hearing aids and all the rest, so my wearing a diaper is just the latest on the list. I just can't imagine that incontinence could be grounds for divorce. |

Re: How many of you have X's
Mar 10 2012 08:02 AM My wife is supportive of my incontinence and being in diapers. Former girlfriends (pre-marriage) were good with with it while dating, but post break up spread my business around to other friends. I would confirm the diapers were true but also told them about my mild spina bifida. It usually backfired on the girlfriend who was immature. My wife knew from day one and is awesome. |

Re: How many of you have X's
Mar 10 2012 10:08 PM I've been lucky. My wife and I are still going strong after nearly 14 years. She's known about my incontinence and bedwetting since we first started dating, and she's always been accepting. I have another friend who's incontinent whose first wife left him shortly after they were married because she couldn't deal with it. That really sucks. I guess it is a big deal for some people, but it doesn't make sense to me, as it's such a non-issue in my own marriage. John |
