Sharing a hotel room with friends

Nov 09 2011 11:37 PM

My friends and I are going to a convention in 2 weeks and we will be sharing a hotel room together. It's 2 other people besides me. I'm really like sick to my stomach nervous. I'm a very deep sleeper and I have an overactive bladder and with some of the medications I have to take the side effects are drowsiness so waking up sometimes is impossible. My friends don't know this and I'm quite scared to the point of not even going with them because of this. Any tips?

there is an old saying, honesty is the best policy, let them know upfront if they are likely to find out, and give them the chance to be adults about it, then you wont be afraid they will act like bullies to you. it might also give them a chance to ask questions incase they themselves might have similar issues as you, or know someone who does

I share a room when traveling with coworkers on a regular basis, I use the disposable underwear as they are quiet and PJ pants that are loose and comfortable, I get changed in the bathroom, nobody has ever noticed and if they did the didn't say anything.

Welcome to the community, Big Mac.

Over the last couple of years we have had a number of threads where individuals have had worries such as yours. As memory serves, the worry and stress of anticipation was much more serious than the actual travel or event.

As others have pointed out, with a bit of planning, you should be fine. Good luck and letting us know how it goes.
