One question that was focused on in the newsletter was about how long before Kegel exercises begin to help? Kegel exercises help to tighten your pelvic floor muscles. Try pretending to stop the flow of urine by holding the muscles for three seconds then relaxing for three seconds. The benefits from these exercises can take effect after just a few weeks. It is possible by continuing the exercises that the symptoms can be reduced or you can be symptom-free within eight to twelve months. You can talk to your doctor for more directions regarding your particular situation.
