STEP 1
Identify the inside and outside of the product.
- The inside (side placed against the skin) has a white absorbent layer.
- The outside of the belted shield has a white moisture-proof outer cover.

STEP 2
Identify the front and back of the product.
- The front of the belted shield has two angled patches of fuzzy green fabric
on the outside of the top of the belted shield.
- The back of the belted shield also has two patches of the same fuzzy green fabric,
but attached squarely to the top of the belted shield.

STEP 3
Lift the person from the chair into a standing position. |

STEP 4
Place the unfolded belted shield on the surface of a chair with the white inside
facing up. Be sure that the back of the belted shield is placed toward the back of the chair. |

STEP 5
Seat the person on the center of the belted shield.
STEP 6
Bring the front of the belted shield up between the legs. The front and back
edges of the belted shield should be pulled to equal heights on the front and
back of the waist line. |

STEP 7
Adjust the elastic straps to the belted shield by pressing the hook & loop tabs onto
the fuzzy green fabric patches located on the front and back. Make sure the
straps are not twisted. |

STEP 8
- Position for a close fit by pulling the elastic straps toward the waistline, making
sure heights on the front and back of the belted shield are equal.
- Elastic straps should be angled slightly upward, over the hips.
- Make sure the straps are not twisted.
- Move any folds of skin - especially on the inner thigh - to prevent leaking and chafing.
- Save elastic straps for reuse. To clean elastic straps, hand wash in mild detergent and

- Note for men: be sure that the penis is pointing down into the belted shield.
