Bladder weakness diary
Try to keep your diary for at least a week before you see your doctor, and then take it with your to your appointment.
Keeping a bladder weakness diary is a great way to give your GP a picture of your individual situation.
Try to include the following information:
- Time of day incontinence usually occurs
- Behaviours or activities preceding incontinence
- Location where loss of bladder control happens most often - for example: toilet, hallway, bedroom, stairway, away from home, etc.
- Amount of liquid consumed
- Any special diets or changes in diet
- Any prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Any behaviours that you suspect may be a side effect of medications
- Are incontinent episodes becoming progressively worse
