RE: new problem
Jan 04 2012 01:59 PM Molicare carries a plastic backed thin diaper with breathable sides. This might help with your problem. |

Jan 05 2012 12:31 AM depending how bad your problems are and how often you need to change, I find depends protection with tabs good, if you need more absorbency you can put in a poise pad with slashes in it, if you need to change often the depends briefs are really good and work very good for odor. |

Re: new problem
Jan 06 2012 06:54 AM The reality is that diapers that "breathe" let air in, but also out, making your desires for diapers that control odor but also breathe at cross purposes. You can have one, but not the other. I'm also not convinced that any diaper can "breathe" through the padding and moisture barrier. The sides, okay, but not in the central part of the diaper. For fecal incontinence, you want a diaper with large standing guards and a wide swath of padding in the back. Several diapers fill the bill, but the Molicare Super Plus would be my first choice for you. They're not too thick but offer excellent protection. Yes, they're plastic-backed, but they're a very thin, textured, and comfortable plastic that makes very little noise once up to temp. -RMS |

Jan 15 2012 11:09 AM My same problem for at least 8 years. I am an active female and use panty liners or sometimes heavy day pads. I have not found a really useful product on my bad days |

Re: new problem
Feb 02 2012 06:25 AM I have the same problem, I've done some research and Tena has their Classic Plus that looks promising. I've tried assurance and some cheaper ones and they are hot and leak bad. Depends max absorb underware work ok as long as its not alot, like after the first one of the day. But you have to make sure its not ruined by the sweat. Tena will send you coupon for free bag of product. They are supposed to breath more too. I use a powder called Monkey Butt. but for the constant wiping i recommend walmart brand all natural wipes. they have NO ALCOHOL!! So there is no burn and no bleeding. If you find yourself raw try Calmoseptine. Its a cream I get from nursing home workers but i think walgreens or someone has it too. I've been trying to fumble through this issue for 2 years since doc took out my gallbladder. Hoping to one day know why it happens. Good Luck and remember your not alone. |

Re: new problem
Feb 28 2012 03:28 PM I'm fecal incontinent only about once or twice a month, but it's always a surprise, so I wear diapers 24/7. I've settled on Select pullups for daytime in that they're very comfortable all day while providing absorbtion with containment and Depend pullups at night because they're not as bulky for a better night's sleep, but still provide absorbtion and containment, too. As for skin care in my diaper area I use copius amounts of baby powder and treat any rashes immediately with Vitamin A & D ointment and have had no lasting problems. As my wife says, "If it was good enough for our kids 40-years ago it's good enough for you now." |
