Are You A Procrastinator?

Jan 25 2012 10:37 PM

Procrastination. Sometimes it seems easier to just put things off until tomorrow, doesn’t it? Whether we procrastinate because we simply “do not feel like it” or the task ahead is discouraging, there always seems to be a reason to drag our feet. So what can we do to help tackle this feeling?

It’s always best to begin with a “Master To-Do List” and write down the things you would like to accomplish each day or week. Take time to prioritize it and add or remove things as you go along.

Set up a time each day or week to go over your to-do list and try to complete at least one task on it.

Have a difficult task ahead such as cleaning out a closet or a garage? Try breaking it up into several smaller tasks and complete a little bit each day.

Remind yourself of the sense of accomplishment you will feel when you find yourself spending less time searching for that favorite sweater in the morning. Stay positive and remind yourself of the positive outcome of completing the task at hand.

And finally, reward yourself for a job well done. Whether you’ve been meaning to splurge at the mall or bakery…make sure you celebrate your success!

Upon reading the article, do you intend on making a "Master To-Do List" yourself? What kind of tasks will you add to it? Does anyone keep a list or have any tips to avoid procrastination?

Lists are like a contract .
I'm not a contractor here at home , I'm a caregiver and a diaper required for daily/nightly functioning person.
When a task comes to light it gets done in a order of priority. For instance a diaper change is priority over say, a making the coffee. By the time one is done the other will be on the schedule to complete.
Folks might say I separated the "Pro" [me] from procrastinator to get things done.
