RE: RASH??? Please Reply
Dec 05 2011 09:42 PM There are different brands of medication that contain zinc. If you read the label though there is a variety of percentages. I used Boudreaux's Butt Paste but found it stains your clothes. It says it right on the label, so I will not use that again. Destin (or the one I purchased) has a REALLY odd odor and had to throw the tube away. I just could not stand it! I did find one though that is pretty inexpensive compared to the other two above and can be found at W.M. Parent's Choice has Aloe & Vitamin E as an added benefit. Sure the name is not the greatest, but actually works very good. The scent is not too strong. |

Dec 06 2011 08:11 AM There have been many helpful suggestions here and it might depend on what will work for you. Some have tried medical body powder or cornstarch to keep it at bay. Others in the community have advised various creams and ointments. Not too long one of the suggestions was to check to see if there is an adult rash ointment at your local pharmacy. What do you use to prevent rashes? |

Dec 13 2011 10:07 PM I use Desitin at night with Caldesecne baby powder with corn starch (it's the pink canister , not the blue one) and use Vusion (prescription) ointment when I have flare-ups. Be consistent and change as often as possible. |

Mar 30 2012 06:50 AM I use Desitin Multipurpose ointment for my rashes along with body lotion and baby powder. I usually apply them after my bubble bath and have never had a rash. Like I have said in my previous post I am very gentle with my cleansing and don't use harsh soaps or chemicals. I am currently using Caress beauty bar and haven't switched yet. I would try not switching your routine until you talk to your dermatologist or family physician. He or she may have to give you a prescription ointment or recommend an over the counter remedy for you. Like I have always said be very gentle with yourself and don't rush your cleansing. If you do this everyday you may see that you aren't rashing as often. |

Mar 30 2012 09:51 AM Thank you everyone for sharing your suggestions on how to help with a rash. If ever in doubt, always check with your doctor. What may also be taken into consideration are the soaps and bath products we use. Do you use special products made for sensitive skin or something else to help with these skin irritations? |
