Causes of Incontinence in Men and the Decision to Wear Protection

Since I've become a community manager for Depend.com, I've been surprised to discover some of the statistics about bladder control issues and protection.

Did you know that less than half of the people with incontinence use a product to manage their leakage and that a high percentage of men don’t use protection at all?

It's normal for a woman to deal with pads during their menstrual cycles, so apparently, it's easier for women to emotionally manage the practical aspects of wearing protection for urinary incontinence.

I was also surprised to hear how many people (men and women) don't seek medical treatment, due to embarrassment or denial.

Do you know what causes your incontinence? If not, check out this excellent article for details: Top Causes of Incontinence in Men

If you've not consulted with a physician, now's a great time to find out why you're experiencing bladder leaks and what can be done about it. The information in the article could help you start the conversation.

WHAT ABOUT YOU? Have you determined the cause of your incontinence? How long did it take you to decide to wear protection? Was it a tough decision?
