Where did diaper doublers go????

Dec 10 2010 01:27 PM

I only have nightime accidents. Does anyone know what happened to the infant diaper doublers you used to be able to find everywhere?? I sleep on my side and used to freely place a doubler both in the crotch and on my side. They were soooo cheap and worked great, but I can't find them anywhere and have gone back to using plastic pants over my diaper. I can't even find the booster pads Depends make anywhere (although I have no idea how well they even work). :(

Depend discontinued them years ago, not even the drug store has them anymore cause of this tough luck economy.

I use a Kotex overnight or super pad as a doubler. They are inexpensive and easy to find. I find that they work best if you cut them in two lengthwise or at least cut them 3/4 of their length. By placing the two pieces on either side of the diaper- do not interfere with the leak guards- they absorb quicker and they keep the male anatomy aimed better.

I am using cloth pullon diapers at nignt now, and I found that baby fcotton diapers work really well, I just lay one out across my midsection, and have had no issues sleeping on my side at all, and when I do go, it is normally a fair amount... fold into thirds, and that should do it, add one to the center section for extra absorbancy. I must admit, since I started with cloth at night, the wicking ability is not even comparable to a disposable, and it takes quite a bit to get a leak with enough layering. Now to get brave enough to use them during day outings, and I can save some cash! ;) Puffy

You can use Pampers, Luvs or Huggies baby diapers as pads and they work well. How to do it is: tear both tape tabs off as they will scratch you, make a cut in the clothlike exterior of the baby diaper lengthwise, be careful placing it in your adult diaper so the gel crystals fall only behind where the baby diaper doubler will go. The baby diapers don't add much bulk, but do add a lot of absrbancy, the leak guards have saved me many many times. They also extend the wear time of the diaper and the wetness will pass on through to the adult diaper. Babies-R-Us still sell diaper doublers, they are in the back of the store next to the diapers.

I can still buy the pads designed to fit into waterproof pants - they are very cheap and have no plastic backing - so are excellent doublers and fir between the leg guards without any risk of overflow.

I use Depends Guards in my cloth diaper, some days just have to remove the guard and the diaper is still dry.

Putting an overnight pad (There, is big brother satisfied?) in with some holes cut in it allows the briefs to be more absorbent, depending on the pad used it can double to triple the absorbency.
