Plastic pants over real-fit

I have a problem that many will not think of as a problem, but here goes. Everyone's male anatomy is different. In my case, the end of the penis naturally stops right about where the padding of the diaper ends and just the shell continues up to the waist band. There is about a half inch of border around this edge that is water proof, but higher up towards the waist band it gives way to just the cloth like shell with no water proofing.\n\nOn long car trips, where using the diaper is a necessity for me, I was always having some of the wetting to go over the top of the border up to the waistband and soaking the waistband of my jeans.\n\nI had tried the very unnatural position of pointing it down into the main part of the padding and even into the crotch. This worked best, but was highly uncomfortable sitting on my penis, if you get my drift, especially in the car where I can't get up and change positions very often.\n\nA pair of plastic pants that come up to my navel really seems to have solved this problem. They keep everything well contained.\n\nSo, that leads to some questions. \n\nI have never tried the taped style. Do they extend higher up? From reading discussions from others, it sounds like the taped diapers are the ones for those that have higher levels of incontinence.\n\nWere the real fit designed to look and feel so much like underwear that they designed some of the functionality out of them?\n\nDoes it cost so much to have the absorbent material in the diaper that they had to limit how high up it goes in the front and limit the span from side to side?\n\nThanks
